Your data at Showcase

Privacy Policy

How Showcase collects, uses, shares and protects personal data in the app and on this website.

16 July 2026

1. Who is responsible for your data?

Showcase is an independent live-music application published by Arthur Vella, who acts as data controller. You can contact Showcase about privacy or exercise your rights at support@showcaseapp.fr.

This policy covers the Showcase iOS application, showcaseapp.fr, and support or moderation exchanges connected with those services.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use Showcase, we process the following categories of data:

  • Account data: email address, username, name, biography, profile photo, authentication method and account settings.
  • Content and social activity: concert reviews, ratings, comments, likes, follows, rankings, reports, blocks, photos and videos you choose to publish as Memories.
  • Concert information: artists, venues, cities, dates and other details associated with your reviews.
  • Safety and support data: report category, identifiers of the accounts or content involved, moderation decisions, administrative reasons, messages you send to support and information needed to resolve the request.
  • Technical and security data: device and app information, push-notification token, IP address and limited server logs used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
  • Authentication data: short-lived verification or reset tokens and session tokens. Passwords are stored only in hashed form; Showcase cannot read them.

3. Why we use it and our legal bases

  • Provide your account and the features you request, including reviews, Memories, rankings and social tools — performance of our contract with you.
  • Protect users, review reports, prevent abuse, secure accounts and maintain the service — our legitimate interests and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations.
  • Send service messages and push notifications you enable — performance of the service or your consent, depending on the notification.
  • Answer support, privacy and account-deletion requests — performance of the service and compliance with legal obligations.
  • Improve reliability by diagnosing errors and measuring technical performance without advertising tracking — our legitimate interest in operating a dependable service.

4. What other people can see

Your username, profile details, reviews, ratings, comments, rankings and approved Memories may be visible to other Showcase users according to your privacy settings. Do not publish information you want to keep confidential.

When an account is private, access is limited through the app’s follow controls. This does not make information already shared with approved followers secret, and those people may still capture or redistribute what they can see.

In manual moderation mode, newly submitted Memories stay private while the Showcase team reviews the complete photo or video batch. Other users can see the review without those files. Rejected files are deleted and do not become public.

5. Service providers and data sharing

Showcase does not sell personal data. We disclose only what is needed to operate the service, respond to you, protect people or comply with law. Providers may include:

  • Apple, for iOS distribution, Sign in with Apple, device services and push notifications.
  • Google, when you choose Google authentication.
  • Render, for application hosting and managed database infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare, for protected storage and delivery of uploaded media through R2.
  • Vercel, for hosting this public website.
  • Deezer, when the app requests artist information and imagery from its service.
  • Email-delivery providers, for verification, password reset, moderation alerts and support-related service messages.

Each provider acts under its own terms or data-processing obligations. We may also share information with competent authorities when legally required, or when necessary to protect someone from a serious and immediate threat.

6. International transfers

Some providers operate from the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where European data-protection law applies, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, appropriate contractual safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism. You may ask us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

7. How long we keep data

Account and published content are generally kept while your account remains active. When you delete your account, Showcase removes the account and its associated content from the active service; copies may remain temporarily in restricted provider backups until their normal replacement cycle completes.

Unpublished review drafts are designed to expire after 24 hours. Refresh sessions are valid for up to 30 days, email-verification links for up to 24 hours and password-reset links for up to 30 minutes.

Reports, moderation records, security logs and support exchanges are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the issue, prevent repeated abuse, secure the service, establish or defend legal claims, and meet legal obligations. The exact period depends on the nature and outcome of the matter.

8. Security

We use access controls, encrypted network connections, hashed passwords, signed media access and restricted administration tools. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a unique password, protect your device and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; receive portable data; or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.

  • Edit profile information and privacy choices directly in the app.
  • Delete your account from the app settings without having to contact support.
  • Email support@showcaseapp.fr for access, correction, restriction, objection, portability or other privacy requests.
  • Lodge a complaint with the CNIL at cnil.fr, or with your local data-protection authority.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will answer within the period required by applicable law.

10. Young users

Showcase is intended for people aged 15 or older. If we learn that an underage person created an account contrary to our Terms, we may delete the account and associated information.

11. This website

This website does not contain analytics, advertising trackers, marketing cookies or a contact form. Basic technical logs may be generated by the hosting provider for security and reliable delivery. Emailing support uses your email provider and sends the information you choose to include.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Showcase or the law changes. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way, and the effective date at the top will be updated. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@showcaseapp.fr.
